In 2020, Dave and Kay retired after more than 40 years of gospel ministry with South America Mission. Their presence in Brazil brought the gospel of grace to hundreds of Indigenous people.
Dave and Kay faithfully served among the Indigenous peoples of Brazil, both as single adults and later as a married couple. Their ministry at the Ammi Training Center in Chapada primarily focused on training leaders through oral Bible storytelling. They witnessed firsthand how God’s story in scripture transforms lives when it comes to life through narrative and proclamation.
God truly impacted the lives of many students that they served at Ammi. Several former students became directors of various Bible schools for Indigenous people, while others became teachers and deans of students at these schools. Numerous individuals also became pastors, and some even ventured to other locations as missionaries.
Through it all, Dave and Kay have learned to trust and depend more upon Jesus.

The Ammi Training Center, established in 1995, wants to see a dynamic church in every tribe in Brazil. With the vision to see disciples of Jesus Christ in every tribe, Ammi provides Bible and leadership training to Indigenous people scattered throughout Brazil.
