Cameron’s first encounter with cross-cultural ministry was during short term trips to Colombia during her high school years. Surrounded by her sending church team, SAM missionaries, and the local church, she saw a vision of the Kingdom at work like never before. She knew instantly that the Spirit was gripping her heart towards cross-cultural ministry. While finishing up her undergraduate degree at the College of Charleston, the Lord once again stirred her passion for missions, and Latin America, to a degree that couldn’t be ignored. An encounter with Julio and Olga Chiang led Cameron’s mom to call her with conviction about joining their team in Lima, Peru. Cameron’s love of urban spaces, discipleship, service, and the local church morph perfectly into the vision of the Lima Initiative, a movement with the vision of seeing “a church centered movement for the long-term transformation of the city and the nations.”

Using her gifts in discipleship and networking to support Iglesia de la Ciudad and the Lima Initiative, Cameron will aid in connecting a network of churches, nonprofits, and other compassion ministries shaping Lima. Her natural passions for relationship building will be a blessing to her teammates as she serves in Lima.
