From: $10 – subscription plan available
Ella lives on her family’s farm while attending college at Chemeketa Community College. Growing up on a farm has taught her to work hard and appreciate everything that God has provided.
She has known and followed Jesus for most of her life. It wasn’t until the last couple of years of high school that she wanted to pursue living her life for Christ. She started serving Christ through her church and through being a Wyldlife leader. Ella has enjoyed leading a group of middle school students and helping them grow in their walk with Jesus. God is growing her and teaching her every day.
Ella is uncertain of where God is calling her in life but feels that He is guiding her toward different paths and opportunities to serve Him. She will serve an eight-week missionary internship in Peru this summer. She will be involved in English classes, children’s ministry, and other outreach opportunities. Through this internship in Pucallpa, Peru, she is seeking clarity for her purpose and passion.
Pucallpa, a major jungle city with over 310,000 residents, serves as a gateway to the Amazon and the hub for SAM’s operations in Peru. SAM’s first missionaries in Peru traveled up the Amazon River to Iquitos in 1926, ministering to the unreached people groups of the Ucayali River basin. Today, SAM’s ministries include SAM Academy (1st-12th school for missionary kids), SAMAIR, Refugio de Esperanza, and outreach to Indigenous communities.
Ella is excited to get out of her comfort zone and to trust God in and through everything. She also wants to improve her Spanish speaking and comprehension skills to communicate better. Ella is especially excited to explore and immerse herself in the traditions and culture of Peru.
Ministry: Peru Field, GO Fund
Every ministry field needs a strong foundation. The Peru GO Fund sustains the vital infrastructure that makes God’s work possible…caring for missionaries, stewarding finances, maintaining compliance with local regulations, and operating field offices.
