Caleb is taking a gap year after his freshman year at the University of Virginia to focus on learning Spanish and exploring where God might be leading him in the future. At UVA, Caleb built meaningful friendships through Reformed University Fellowship (RUF), a campus ministry that reaches college students from all backgrounds with the hope of Jesus Christ. He looks forward to continuing his involvement when he returns to school.
This past summer, Caleb’s passion for ministry deepened as he participated in an outreach soccer camp, coached, and led Bible studies at an FCA camp. Plus, he traveled to South Africa on a mission trip. These experiences strengthened his relationship with Christ and grew his heart for missions as he stepped out of his comfort zone to share the Gospel.
In February 2025, Caleb will travel to Cartagena, Colombia for an eight-week Spanish immersion program. As part of this program, he will attend 20 hours of classes weekly at a local Spanish immersion school, serve with local churches in outreach ministries, and live with a host family to fully embrace the culture.
Caleb looks forward to seeing how God uses this immersion program to deepen his faith and equip him to better serve the Spanish-speaking community in Charlottesville, VA when he returns.
