John and Minori are missionaries in Pucallpa, Peru. Minori’s parents were missionaries to Lima and she has lived all over the world, including Japan, Costa Rica, and Ecuador. They have been serving with SAM since the late 1980s and have two children, Amy and Kenji.

John is the field administrator for SAM Peru. He is also in charge of the SAM base where SAM Academy is located and where several missionary families live. The SAM base is used for many ministry activities such as sports, Bible studies, workshops, and other events.

Minori’s ministry focus is on strategic ministry outreach. She is on the leadership team for Ministerio Impacto (ministry for the elderly), JPNR (youth camp ministry), and Granito de Amor (children’s ministry).  She also teaches at SAM Academy and has ESL classes.

The Lucases also have a Bible study for young married couples where they enjoy discovering God’s plan for marriage together. They also host short-term project teams which provide opportunities for involvement with the local community and churches.
