Opportunity: Chef

Ammi Scholarship

Our vision is to see hearts won for Christ so that every life can be redeemed. Through this work of evangelism and discipleship, we long to see churches renewed by these redeemed lives and communities transformed by this gospel work.

We believe that discipleship is an important part of the church but also the vocational environment. We do not see a separation of “church life” and “work life”; the renewed heart of a Christ follower abides in Christ’s love no matter their physical location. With this vision, we are looking for specific professionals to work in our communities and disciple their coworkers.

Chef: Ami Discipleship Center, Brazil (minimum 1 year commitment)

The Ami Center is an indigenous pastoral ministry in Brazil which ministers to the indigenous community through discipleship, life skills and theological education. The Ami Center is in need of a full-time cook to use their culinary background to prepare food for the Center while discipling and ministering to their coworkers in the kitchen.

The ideal candidate will have experience in food services and discipleship. In this context of conservative indigenous culture, the candidate is preferably female as the cooking staff is also predominantly female. Portuguese language skill is preferred, but language learning can also be part of the preparation for service.

If you have a heart for building relationships rooted in Christ and have a background in food services, start a conversation with us today at mobilization@southamericamission.org
