In Colombia, our ministry partner, the Wájaro Foundation continues to walk alongside ASPEWA (the association of evangelical Wayuu pastors) through life-changing education and literacy programs. This year, a record number of 900 adults are enrolled in Wayuunaiki literacy classes, thanks to a new partnership with The Bible Society! An additional 800 adults are learning to read and write in Spanish, while others are studying in elementary, technical, or seminary programs.
225 Wayuu preschoolers are in educational programs, and Wájaro is raising funds for school supplies to make their first experience joyful and rich with opportunity.
Pray for every Wayuu student to flourish this year, growing in knowledge, faith, and confidence. Ask God to sustain ASPEWA’s leaders and the Wayuu Church as they disciple and equip their communities through education and the Gospel.
