The phrase, “First of All, Pray!”, inspired by 1 Timothy 2:1, is the name of our prayer ministry. It reflects the prominence of prayer within our community. It’s been a mark of our Mission for more than 100 years. The mark remains. First of all, pray—deliberately, intentionally, and in faith, with praise and thanksgiving.

VBS Mission Trip at Refugio de Esperanza February 21st, 2025

Carmel Christian students are traveling to Pucallpa, Peru, for a VBS mission trip, partnering with SAM Academy to serve at Refugio de Esperanza. Refugio is a place of hope and transformation for children, youth, and adults with disabilities—offering education, vocational training, rehabilitation, and discipleship.

Pray for unity and joy as Carmel Christian and SAM Academy students build friendships while serving together. Ask God to deepen their faith and expand their perspective on His work in the world. Pray that through this VBS (based on Romans 12:2), the children at Refugio will know they are deeply loved by God.

Pastors and Churches in La Paz February 19th, 2025

Jeff HAuse recently traveled to the La Paz department in the highlands of Bolivia to visit INESB, a church association that SAM partners with. While there, he shared with seminary students, introduced church leaders to ReFocus—a ministry focused on strengthening biblical leadership—and visited several growing congregations.

Praise God for the opportunity to train church leaders in Bolivia, equipping them with the skills to strengthen and revitalize their churches for long-term impact! Pray that these leaders apply what they’ve learned to disciple others and grow healthy churches. Ask God to continue using Jeff as he teaches and invests in pastors.

The Haylett Family February 17th, 2025

Since 2015, Chris and Cristi Haylett have faithfully served in church planting and discipleship in Colombia. The last several years they have been in Armenia, walking alongside Pastor Jorge, Kristina, and the community at New Hope Church and Hands of Hope Foundation. Now, they have returned to the U.S. to focus on their family’s needs while trusting God to continue His work in Armenia.

Pray for their transition, for meaningful connections as they share their ministry with churches, and for New Hope Church to keep growing in its mission to reach the next generation for Christ. Pray for Pastor Jorge and Kristina as they disciple and lead, and ask God to provide the support they need to continue transforming lives in Colombia.

Marriages February 14th, 2025

Serving in ministry and navigating cross-cultural life comes with unique challenges. We’re praying for marriages in our SAM community—that they would reflect God’s love, remain steadfast in times of stress, and be a blessing rather than a burden in ministry.

Pray that husbands and wives would rely on God’s love to strengthen their relationships and that their marriages would be a testimony of grace, unity, and faithfulness. If you know a missionary couple, lift them up in prayer today!

Daniel and Alejandra Netzlaff February 12th, 2025

Daniel and Alejandra Netzlaff, a Brazilian-Bolivian couple serving with SAM, are faithfully planting a church in Santa Cruz while also ministering to the Indigenous Araona people. As bi-vocational missionaries, they balance work and ministry but desire to be fully available for God’s calling.

Pray for strength and encouragement as they equip church leaders and serve Indigenous communities with the Gospel. Ask God to provide the financial support they need through churches and partners, so they can dedicate more time to discipleship and outreach.

Transforming Ministries February 10th, 2025

Ricardo and Gloria Stella Diaz, who serve with Transforming Ministries (TM), recently traveled to Ecuador with part of their international team. During their trip, they preached at TM’s network of growing churches and led marriage, women’s, and church-planting seminars—equipping leaders and strengthening the body of Christ in Latin America.

Praise God for the impact of their time in Ecuador! Pray that the seeds planted through these teachings will bear fruit and that God continues to use Transforming Ministries to disciple and equip church leaders, helping build strong, biblically-rooted churches across Latin America.

Abbie Kim February 7th, 2025

We’re praising God for Abbie Kim, who has joined our U.S. office as Mobilization Coordinator! With her own experience as a SAM intern in Peru, she understands the excitement and challenges of stepping into missions for the first time. Now, she’s helping recruit and guide others as they discern their call to serve in Latin America.

Please pray for Abbie as she steps into this role—that God would use her to encourage and equip future missionaries. Pray for wisdom, joy, and deep connections as she walks alongside those exploring their next steps in ministry!

Touch of the Master Music School February 5th, 2025

This week marks the start of a new year at Touch of the Master Music School (TMMS) in Recife, Brazil! Through music, this ministry creates opportunities to reach the Dois Unidos community with the hope of Christ.

Please pray for the teachers and students as they learn and grow, that their music would glorify God and reflect His truth. Pray that TMMS continues to be a place of transformation, shaping hearts and lives through creativity and faith.

Mobilizing Students for Missions February 3rd, 2025

This month, our Mobilization Team is visiting college campuses to connect with students about how they can serve in missions. Pray that God stirs hearts and calls students to be part of His work in South America.

SAM serves through urban engagement, Indigenous engagement, aviation, and education—offering internships, short-term, and long-term opportunities. Ask God to use these conversations to mobilize the next generation for ministry!

SAMAIR Peru Solar Project January 31st, 2025

God is opening doors for SAMAIR Peru to expand its reach through the SAMAIR Solar Project! By reducing energy costs, this project will allow us to provide more free and subsidized flights, helping local missionaries bring the Gospel and essential aid to remote communities.

Praise God for the progress so far, and please pray for the remaining funds needed to complete the project. More flights mean more lives impacted for Christ!
