Tom and Rita help coordinate and lead short-term mission trips to Peru through a partnership with United Servants Abroad and South America Mission. The Hough’s daughter, Hannah, lives in Wellington, Florida.

Tom is the son of SAM missionaries, having grown up in the jungles of the eastern Peruvian Amazon. Tom’s and Rita’s passion for the indigenous peoples of Peru sewed a vision long ago for the development of a Bible Training Center in Pucallpa, Peru, serving namely the Shipibo people of the Ucayali river region.

    Ministry: CCB Peru

    In 1992, the Centro de Capacitación Bíblica (CCB) opened its doors for the first time and it has grown from a class size of six to an average of 50 students.

    Ministry: Peru Field, GO Fund

    Each of South America Mission’s countries of service incurs costs associated with managing and facilitating ministry and caring for missionaries (e.g. compliance with local government regulations, operating a field office, stewarding field finances, etc.) Resources allocated in support of the general operations of the Peru field directly support the infrastructure essential to ministry.

    Ministry: Mil Palmeras Church

    In 2006, the South America Mission Peru Church Planting team began Iglesia Mil Palmeras, in Pucallpa, Peru, also known as Thousand Palms Church. Today, the church is transforming its community by embodying the Kingdom of God.
