At South America Mission, we remain committed to seeing the Church of Jesus Christ multiplied and communities transformed by embodying the Kingdom of God. We rejoice in the progress of the Gospel, a result of the faithfulness of those who have gone before. Some have even laid down their lives. Hundreds serve alongside us today. Many continue to serve with joy after their retirement. Through it all, our zeal for God’s glory remains steadfast.
Today, that zeal translates into visible form through our missionaries and partners. Together, we actively share the Gospel, reproduce authentic disciples of Jesus, plant churches, train leaders, and enable transformational initiatives.
Our work flows from what we believe about God and His creation. As an interdenominational Christian mission organization, missionaries come from diverse, evangelical denominational backgrounds and serve together in biblical unity. Our team affirms the following truths of the faith. Click here to read Our Beliefs.
An abiding, loving, redemptive, suffering and growing community to whom people say: Let us go with you, for we have heard God is with you. Zechariah 8.23
Dynamic churches multiplied across Latin America that transform local communities and the world as they embody the Kingdom of God.
We state it emphatically as our way of being. The commitment to living out our redemption also guides our concerted way of doing. By the true living out of our redemption in Christ, we discover just how we will participate in building for the vision God has set before us.
โBe imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children, and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.โ (Ephesians 5: 1-2)
After all, this is what Jesus commissioned us to do, to go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18- 20). Itโs more than proclaiming Jesus; at the heart of discipleship is revealing Jesus to others by living life together. Itโs another personโs transformation achieved through Jesus revealed in our bodies. Jesus set the standard for how to make disciples when he said to Simon and Andrew, โCome, follow me.โ (Matthew 4:19), an invitation to learn and grow by being present with Jesus.
We believe South America will be won to Christ by South Americans. For this reason, we place great emphasis on local, contextualized leadership training that develops men and women grounded in truth and in living a life worthy of the calling received from God in Christ (Ephesians 4:1).
โRemember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.โ (Hebrews 13:7)
Long-term spiritual and cultural transformation comes as churches carry the very presence of Christโand demonstrate his grace, love and mercyโto a dying world. Itโs about the communities of the redeemed in the world stepping out to be the hands and feet of Jesus, โthe fullness of him who fills everything in every wayโ. (Ephesians 1:23)
โYou are the light of the world.โฆ.let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.โ (Matthew 5:14-16)
