Mahon, Mike & Nancy

Mike and Nancy became members of South America Mission in 1989 and joined the SAMAIR Peru Aviation team. They served in the jungle rainforest of Peru near Pucallpa late in 1991, with Mike working as an A&P aircraft mechanic and Nancy teaching at the SAM Academy mission school. Mike also served as Office Manager and Logistics Coordinator during the over 31 years he and Nancy were in Peru. In 2022, the Executive Director of MMS Aviation in Nancy’s hometown of Coshocton, Ohio officially requested that Mike return and fill the long-vacant role of Parts Manager. Previously, Mike had been on the training staff team of MMS from 1984-1989. South America Mission approved putting Mike and Nancy on loan to MMS beginning in June of 2024. The Mahons remain members of South America Mission.

For the past 50 years, the ministry of MMS Aviation has prepared people and planes for worldwide missionary service. It is a training center for people to learn to be certified A&P aircraft mechanics. They learn by restoring and refurbishing many different types of aircrafts used in missions around the world, where they are flown in remote areas where roads are few and distances great. Mike’s work ordering parts and processing supplies makes the process of refurbishing and repairing aircrafts quicker and more efficient. The Mahons feel blessed to continue in this critical mission aviation ministry.
