Costa Norte Ministries

Costa Norte Ministries is an extension of South America Mission’s long-standing work in Colombia, concentrated in the Caribbean-facing departments of Atlántico, Magdalena, and La Guajira, along with the inland but deeply connected department of Cesar. While SAM currently has no resident missionaries beyond Barranquilla, our team continues to walk alongside churches planted through decades of faithful discipleship.

We support local congregations as they reach out to their growing communities—urban, rural, coastal, and desert alike. This region is strikingly diverse: from the resorts of El Rodadero to banana farms and coal terminals, from the coffee slopes of the Sierra Nevada to rancherías where Wayuu families preserve their ancestral language and customs. It’s also shaped by the realities of migration, economic strain, and lingering conflict.

Amid this complexity, Costa Norte Ministries partners with churches committed to cultivating authentic disciples—followers of Jesus who shine with integrity and hope in a world of constant change.
