Freeman, Jon

As Chief Ministry Officer at South America Mission, Jon leads Gospel-centered ministry efforts across Latin America. He partners with missionaries and local leaders across the region from urban cities to remote villages. His work centers on equipping and resourcing leaders, facilitating SAM’s international ministries, and building partnerships that reflect Christ’s love and advance His Kingdom.

With over 25 years of pastoral, missions, and ministry leadership experience, Jon has dedicated his life to training the next generation of spiritual leaders and building healthy churches. He is passionate about inspiring and enabling believers and churches to increase in faithfulness and fruitfulness in making disciples of all nations.Jon and his wife, Kim, have been serving together in ministry since their marriage in 2001. They are blessed with five children and love welcoming others into their home for fellowship and connection. When not leading ministry initiatives, Jon enjoys strategy games and cheering on his kids at their sporting events.

Jon has studied business (BS & MBA), Theology (Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary), and Leadership (finishing his Ph.D from Anderson University). His life and ministry are driven by a deep conviction that the Gospel changes lives – ours and those we serve.
