Lucas, John & Minori

From: $25 – subscription plan available

John and Minori are missionaries in Pucallpa, Peru. Minori’s parents were missionaries to Lima and she has lived all over the world, including Japan, Costa Rica, and Ecuador. They have been serving with SAM since the late 80s and have two children, Amy and Kenji.

John is the field administrator for SAM Peru. Minori directed SAM Academy for years and has since transitioned to focus on strategic ministry outreach involving teaching ESL and women’s Bible studies. The Lucases also host short-term project teams and summer teams made up of college-age students to allow them the experience of SAM’s various ministries in Peru. John and Minori see these shorter periods of engagement for young people as great recruiting tools for long-term missionary service.

    Ministry: Peru Field, GO Fund

Each of South America Mission’s countries of service incurs costs associated with managing and facilitating ministry and caring for missionaries (e.g. compliance with local government regulations, operating a field office, stewarding field finances, etc.) Resources allocated in support of the general operations of the Peru field directly support the infrastructure essential to ministry.
