Praise God for the good fruit He has produced in many lives in 2012. Praise Him for a new year of ministry in South America, and pray for renewed strength, passion and energy for our missionaries as they begin a new year.

Pray for SAM missionaries that are living so far from family. Christmas can be hard being away from family and friends as well as traditional holiday Christmas activities. Praise the Father for the coming of the Son to redeem man!

Pray for the field directors and board members as they meet November 8-10 for board meetings in Charlotte, NC. Pray for godly wisdom, God’s leading and direction for the mission as a whole and that this would be a time of renewal and refreshment for the field directors.

Pray for the Latin American church leaders, among them SAM missionaries, who attended the CLADE V conference in Costa Rica last month. Pray for the Holy Spirit to shape the direction of God’s Kingdom-building project in Latin America in the years to come. Pray for the CLADE V leaders as they help chart the course.

Pray for the SAM missionary corps to daily cultivate their relationships with God, to understand the culture and language where they live, and to remain healthy in mind and body. Ask God to bring opportunities to share the gospel, disciple others, and show God’s love as often as possible. 

Pray for rest for our missionaries in all our countries. The constant needs before us tempt us to overload and to work in our own strength. Ask that God would give us rest in Him and allow our labor to be directed by the Spirit.

Pray for the 2012 CONPLEI Congress, which begins in Chapada, Brazil, today! «A genuinely indigenous church among every people.»

Lance and Caroline Erickson, currently raising support to serve in Bolivia with SAMAIR, lost a family member in a tragic mission aviation accident in Zambia on June 2, 2012. Lance’s brother Jay and his wife Katrina died when their airplane crashed into a river after hitting a cable they did not see because of the setting sun.
