First of all, pray.

Please pray for Julián and Serina Arias, who serve with South America Mission in Medellín, Colombia. Their ministry focuses on supporting local churches in three key ways: encouraging church health through teaching, church planting, and counseling pastors; revitalizing transitioning churches by providing sound doctrine through conferences and resources; and fostering collaboration among churches to reach the city for Christ. Pray for the pastors and churches in Medellín to grow in unity, wisdom, and strength as they work to expand God’s Kingdom.

Pray for the upcoming opening of CoVentus in Barranquilla, Colombia. This new coworking space offers private offices, a podcasting area, event space, and conference rooms, and will host a local church on Sunday mornings. Ask God to bless CoVentus, helping it serve the community and support local churches and ministries. Pray for Joel and Angel Ballew whose vision for this space is finally realized. Pray that CoVentus will foster meaningful connections and advance God’s Kingdom.

Ciudad Corazon, a house-church network in Colombia (part of the ministry of VivaLatAm), has a house church in Venezuela. Please pray for this house church in Maracay, Venezuela, led by Francys and Pedro. With the political upheaval in the country, the government has unjustly imprisoned protestors of the recent election. Believers in Maracay have been using Bible Project videos on justice to understand how they can be light in this present darkness.

There is a prison is located near the church, and the church body has been providing food, prayer, and comfort to the waiting families. Pray for strength and peace for these families and for the release of those imprisoned, including Andrés, Mileidys, Carleidys, Angelivier, José, Carlos, Cristian, Samuel, Julio, Angel, and Luis. Thank God for positioning His church to serve in this time of need.

The Wajaro Foundation exists to strengthen and empower the Indigenous church of Colombia. Wajaro staff help Christian Indigenous communities organize, create, and develop projects in whatever way the Spirit of God is leading their communities.

Pray for the spiritual strengthening of Wajaro staff and Indigenous leaders throughout Colombia. Spiritual warfare is everywhere; there is a lot of brokenness in need of the healing presence of God. Wajaro needs more staff and more funding. Please pray that God would provide abundantly. Pray for the southern part of Colombia, especially the Vaupes community, that God would raise up leaders after His own heart and show us how to support them.

Please join us in praying for the connection breakfast for pastors in the “Iniciativa Oriente Antioqueño” happening today. Julián Arias is working with a group from City to City to start formalizing the church network in the eastern part of the Colombian state of Antioquia. This gathering is a significant step toward building trust and unity among local pastors, with the goal of working together to expand God’s Kingdom in the region. Pray for open hearts and minds as these leaders come together and for fruitful relationships to form. May this be the first of many events that strengthen the church network in eastern Antioquia.

Please pray for La Esperanza (Hope) School in Santa Marta, Colombia, a ministry of La Esperanza Church, as it continues to provide quality Christian education to the community. Since its founding in 1990, the school has grown to become a top-ranking institution, both locally and nationally, while also emphasizing evangelism and discipleship. There is an ongoing need for Christian teachers, so pray that God would provide the right people to join this ministry to the students and families of Santa Marta.

Please pray for the churches on the north coast of Colombia, where South America Mission has served for decades. Lift up the pastors and their families in Santa Marta, Gaira, Cienaga, Mingueo, and Palomino, and ask God to bless them with strength, wisdom, and unity. Pray for the spiritual health and growth of both new and long-established congregations in this region. May these churches continue to be beacons of hope and light, faithfully sharing the love of Christ with their communities.

This month, we pray for God’s work in Colombia through SAM and our partner ministries and churches. While ministry has changed over the years, SAM remains passionate about discipleship, church planting, leadership training, and community development to bring about Gospel transformation in urban and Indigenous communities.
