The phrase, “First of All, Pray!”, inspired by 1 Timothy 2:1, is the name of our prayer ministry. It reflects the prominence of prayer within our community. It’s been a mark of our Mission for more than 100 years. The mark remains. First of all, pray—deliberately, intentionally, and in faith, with praise and thanksgiving.

Ciudad Corazon October 30th, 2024

From November 2-4, the annual Ciudad Corazón Spiritual Retreat will be taking place, offering a dedicated time for spiritual renewal and community. This retreat creates space for participants to step away from their daily routines, draw closer to God, and find encouragement in fellowship with one another.

Ciudad Corazón is a ten-year-old house church network in Colombia and Venezuela deeply devoted to community service and ministering to the most vulnerable in society. Please pray for a fruitful retreat for Ciudad Corazón!

Julie Tina October 28th, 2024

Join us in welcoming Julie Tina to the SAM U.S. office team! Julie has stepped into the role of Operations Manager, helping keep office life running smoothly and efficiently. With her resourcefulness, creativity, and infectious enthusiasm, she’s already making a positive impact. We’re so grateful to have her on board! Please pray for Julie as she settles into this new role and supports the ministries of SAM.

the Snyder Family October 25th, 2024

Praise God for the life and legacy of Margie Snyder, who went to be with the Lord on October 17. Margie and her husband, Dave, faithfully served with SAM in Brazil from 1960-1998 and again from 2004-2010, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives. Please join us in praying for Dave, their five children and their spouses, as well as their many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as they honor her memory and walk through this time of grief. May God’s comfort and peace surround them as they celebrate her remarkable life of service and love.

Peru SAM Community October 23rd, 2024

Praise God for an incredible time of fellowship at the Peru SAM Family conference! Our team spent a refreshing week together on the beautiful coast of Peru. Jon Freeman joined us from the U.S. office to teach from 1 Peter, while the SAM Academy kids and staff led us in heartfelt worship. Jennie Hopper provided much-needed missionary care and counseling. It was a special time to share ministry updates, grow together, and be reminded that we are truly «on mission together.»

Truth and Life Church in Colombia October 21st, 2024

Iglesia Verdad y Vida (Truth and Life Church) is located outside Medellin, Colombia. Please pray for this congregation that is full of joy and love for one another and Pastor Wilson and his wife Sandra as they encourage the church family to grow deeper in love for each other and the Word. Pastor Wilson invited SAM missionary Julián Arias to preach at Verdad y Vida, and Julián was grateful for the opportunity to share God’s Word and to fellowship with this community.

CENFOW October 18th, 2024

Praise God for the completed construction at CENFOW, a Wayuu pastoral training center in Uribia, Colombia! With SAM’s financial support and missionary Jake Jones‘ oversight of the plans, local leaders facilitated the expansion, including shaded porches where students can gather for learning and discussion.

Founded in the early 2000s, CENFOW has been instrumental in training Wayuu pastors who now serve their communities. Pray for the continued impact of this center as students study and prepare to bring Christ’s transformational hope to northern Colombia.

Jeff HAuse and Iglesia Evangélica la Restauración October 16th, 2024

Jeff HAuse has recently returned to life and ministry in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, after an extended time in the U.S. for graduate studies. He is particularly grateful to be back in his local church family at Iglesia Evangélica la Restauración. Pastor Pablo Scetti has been focused on new leadership within the congregation. One new leader, Miguel, has been leading a group called Hombres de Fe (Men of Faith). Please pray for Miguel as he grows in leadership and service to this group of men. Pray for Jeff as he settles back into ministry in Santa Cruz.

Mazamari Center in Peru October 14th, 2024

Praise God for the work happening at the Mazamari Center in Eastern Peru, a hub for strengthening the Ashaninka church. Mike Anderson joined a team from Pucallpa to give the center a “facelift.” What an improvement! (You can find photos on

Over the years, this building has hosted the Ashaninka Bible Institute, pastors’ conferences, and health and carpentry courses. Today, the center supports ACCONASEP (Christian Association for Native Communities of the Peruvian Jungle) in partnership with SAM. Its purpose is to develop Ashaninka church leadership, promote community health, and serve as a hostel during travel. Please pray for continued growth, the Indigenous church leaders, and SAM continued involvement and support of this ministry.

Mazamari is located in a remote area of Peru, it can be a challenge to get there.  While the roads are major highways, about half are dirt/gravel through the mountains.  It is a beautiful trip, but is only safely possible in the peak of dry season because of landslides.

For photos of the facelift and roads, please check out SAM’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Angel Sandoval Communities in Eastern Bolivia October 11th, 2024

The remote communities of Angel Sandoval in eastern Bolivia are no strangers to isolation. Seasonal flooding of the Pantanal, the world’s largest tropical wetland, cuts them off from the rest of the country. But now, they are battling another force of nature—wildfires.

With only one road in and out, these communities have limited contact with other people. Last year, SAMAIR Bolivia partnered with local believers for a trip by land to serve these isolated regions. And this October, the local believers have initiated another journey. This time, they’re bringing supplies, medical aid, and, most importantly, the hope of the Gospel.

Pray with us for protection over these communities endangered by the wildfires and for hearts to be open to the love of Christ. 🙏❤️
