The Ammi Training Center

The Ammi Training Center, established in 1995, wants to see a dynamic church in every tribe in Brazil. With this vision, Ammi provides Bible and leadership training to Indigenous people. The Ammi staff is a diverse group of Indigenous, Brazilians, and North Americans and are dedicated to nurturing believers, empowering them to grow in their knowledge of Christ and utilize their gifts to serve the Church. Students come to the Ammi campus where they live, study, and serve for eight months of the year. The Ammi staff participates in all aspects of student training. Students train in scripture knowledge and practical life skills such as agriculture, health, and construction.

Craig and Mary DeLille

Craig DeLille, the SAM Brazil Director, leads the Brazil team in bringing about Gospel transformation in their ministries. The Brazil team works closely with pastors, churches, partner ministries, and local leaders in urban and Indigenous contexts. Please pray for Craig and Mary DeLille as they live out the Gospel in their lives and the ministries God has given them.

Dan and Julie Snyder

Dan and Julie are working with local Indigenous leaders and church teams in Bolivia and Brazil for several weeks this summer. Please pray for the Indigenous as they plan and strategize ways to serve and reach their fellow Indigenous with the gospel. Please pray for safety and fruitful ministry for the Snyders. 

 

Brazil Summer Intern

Kennedy is a college intern in Brazil this summer. She has a particular interest in ESL and Bible translation. Kennedy will be helping Tracey Culley with ESL classes, and she will have the opportunity to serve Indigenous translators at a Bible translation workshop. Pray for Kennedy as she immerses herself in the culture and explores how God is at work in Brazil.

AMEI Women’s Conference

At the beginning of May, AMEI (Association of Indigenous Evangelical Women) will host the first women’s conference since the pandemic. Corina Terena Dias and other Indigenous women have been planning the event. Travel is always complicated with long distances and geographic issues. Please pray that God pours out His grace on the conference and supplies all their needs.  

Ammi Training Center

This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

The new school year is underway at the Ammi Training Center. Representing 13 different ethnic groups, there are 17 first-year students, 13 second-year students, and five third-year students. Please pray for the education and discipleship of each student. 

Bible translation in Brazil

South America Mission sent volunteers to the Ammi Training Center in Brazil, where they helped with logistics, transportation, and food prep for a Bible translation workshop hosted there. 

There are many tribal groups in Brazil still without the Bible in their language. Bible translation is a collaborative effort and includes linguists, translators, consultants, and teachers. SAM was grateful to provide space and volunteers for the workshop. Please pray for unity and accuracy in the translation process.

Indigenous pastors in Brazil

We are praying for pastors in January!

Edimar, Elenildo, Izaque, Zico (graduates of Ammi Training Center), and Esdras (partner of Ammi) are pastors in Brazil. Please pray Ephesians 3:16-19 for them,  their families, and churches.

“I pray that out of his glorious riches, he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”
