First of all, pray.

Caleb is an intern at the Ammi Training Center in Chapada Dos Guimaraes, Brazil. This ministry desires to see dynamic churches and disciples of Jesus Christ in every tribe in Brazil. Caleb will serve in a variety of ways. He will build relationships with the students plus teach English to Brazilian and Indigenous missionaries. Also, he will help with the general maintenance of the Ammi facilities. Caleb is eager to learn about God’s heart for the world and to encourage others to walk faithfully with the Lord.

Tracey serves in Recife, Brazil, with Recife Redemptive Ministries. One of her main responsibilities is teaching English through the Touch of the Master Music School. As she juggles a wide age range and skill level of students, she is grateful for the many opportunities to love and care for students and families. Please pray for the ways God is using her to share His gospel with her students! 

Touch of the Master Music School is a platform to reach the Dois Unidos community of Recife, Brazil, for Christ. Part of SAM’s Recife Redemptive Ministries, Touch of the Master offers music theory and practice in various instruments. Pray for directors Djaniro and Patricia Loureiro as they lead the volunteer staff and students to a deeper understanding of music, our creative nature, and our connection to the Creator.

Ammi Training Center hosted a workshop for Indigenous leaders. Please pray for the ways God will use this training in the Indigenous communities. SAM members from Ammi, Recife, and the U.S. helped with logistics. Kennedy Groves learned about translation as she served the staff and students as part of her SAM summer internship. 

Meiry Yakawa is the Director of the Ammi Training Center. Please pray for her as she leads and cares for staff and students. This year there are 28 students from 13 ethnicities. Pray for good health, strength, courage, and encouragement for the Ammi staff to fulfill the mission the Lord entrusted to them. Pray for students to share the love of Jesus with their communities.

Ricardo is a member of CONPLEI (National Council of Indigenous Pastors and Leaders) and Director of the CONPLEI Youth program. He has served as pastor and missionary for over 20 years along with his wife, Flavia. They have been working in the Northeast of Brazil since 2018. The Northeast of Brazil has an estimated 58 Indigenous ethnicities with as many as 29 tribes that have not heard the gospel. Ricardo is involved with research and mapping the Indigenous villages and providing pastoral care and support.

Henrique and Corina Terena serve the Indigenous Church in Brazil and all of South America. They minister and partner with CONPLEI,  AMEI, Transamazonian Network, MTO (Three Waves Movement), Ammi Training Center, Semiraita, and ALTECO, all ministries working with the Indigenous Church. They both are involved in leadership training and empowering the Indigenous leaders in the Amazon region. Henrique is an advisor to both Brazilian and foreign missionary agencies, raising awareness of work being done among the Indigenous.

We rejoice that the Gospel is being passed on by the Indigenous to the Indigenous in Brazil. CONPLEI (National Congress of Evangelical Indigenous Pastors and Leaders) is an Indigenous evangelical organization and movement whose motto is “a genuinely Indigenous biblical church.” Henrique Terena Diaz is the president and leads the effort to see God’s Kingdom spread through the Amazon. CONPLEI hosts conferences, youth events, and training for Indigenous pastors and leaders.

Don and Vera serve at the Ammi Training Center. Vera serves as the academic coordinator, overseeing curriculums, classes, and teachers. Additionally, she has developed a method of teaching Portuguese as a second language to those who arrive at Ammi with no prior understanding of the official language of Brazil. Don teaches first and second-year classes and helps maintain the expansive 40-acre property. He leads afternoon work sessions where the staff and students work shoulder to shoulder.
