Kathryn (Kat) Guild felt a call to missions as a teenager. Growing up in Charlotte, NC, she actively participated in music ministry at her local church. When Kat encountered
the gospel in a personal way in high school, she experienced the joy of sharing her faith with others. Consequently, she served several summers at WinShape camps
in Georgia and Costa Rica.

During college, Kat got involved with CRU at UNC-Chapel Hill. As a result, she immersed herself in the Word of God through a gospel-centered community. Spending
a semester studying abroad in Quito, Ecuador, grew her love for the people of Latin America and the Spanish language. Therefore solidifying her call to international
missions.

Kat serves with the team in the city of Barranquilla, Colombia. This business hub and port city occupies the northwestern portion of Colombia along the Caribbean coast.
Home to an estimated 2.6 million people, the opportunities for developing relationships leading to discipleship are endless. The team’s vision is to support local Christian
leaders as they transform their communities for the glory of God.

The vision also encompasses redemptive ministry opportunities in serving the vulnerable and marginalized. Kat uses her gifts of building authentic relationships and
understanding of Trauma Competent Care to support children and adolescents from complex and challenging backgrounds. Additionally, she serves alongside local church
ministries working with children and teens in vulnerable communities. She encourages leaders across the city to develop a network of safe adults for marginalized children and
youth.
