Opportunity: Peru Summer Internships

Unleash your gifts and servant heart in Pucallpa, a vibrant city in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon, as part of a hands-on summer internship. Immerse yourself in the Peruvian culture by living with a local family, working alongside experienced missionaries, and exploring diverse ministries including ESL, children’s ministry, youth ministry, sports ministry, ministry to the elderly, and evangelistic outreach programs. Come share your love for Jesus and gain a better understanding of Kingdom work.

Do I have to raise my own support?

Yes, this is a support-raised internship. Don’t worry; we’ll provide you with the tools needed to raise support from your own community and network.

How does support raising work? 

Support raising isn’t a pre-ministry task; it’s an integral part of the journey! Once accepted into the internship, we set up your online donation portal, provide training on effective support-raising techniques, and schedule regular check-in calls to monitor your progress.

While raising support may seem daunting, it’s also an opportunity to witness God’s faithfulness and provision. It’s a chance to invite others to join in the incredible work the Lord is doing worldwide.

 How much will I need to raise to serve as an intern?

You’ll need to raise $3,500 plus airfare from Charlotte, NC to Peru, along with the costs for pre-field training.

Is there any prior training before arriving in Peru? 

Yes! Our internship begins with a two-day orientation at our Home Office in Fort Mill, SC. Additional costs for transportation and housing.

Can I get course credit? 

We work with you directly to determine if this internship matches your academic needs. Please contact our Onboarding Manager (mobilization@southamericamission.org) to discuss your school’s internship requirements.

Do I need to speak Spanish? 

While a basic background in Spanish is helpful, it is not a requirement for this internship.
