Nilton and Kaylee serve in Guatemala City. They serve kids in Bethania, an under-resourced neighborhood, by hosting kids’ programs. From science classes, music classes, and “splash days,” the Soliers are encouraged to see the kids growing and learning. Someone from their local church recently donated eight huge garbage bags of sample medications to their ministry in Bethania. They organized and sorted about 700 different types of medications! It was a lot of work, but now they can offer these medications to the health center in Bethania, which they have been exploring how to work with. Pray that these medications will bless the community and that they can continue working with other organizations to serve Bethania well.

Nilton and Kaylee Solier serve kids and teenagers through a tutoring and after-school program in Bethania, a neighborhood of Guatemala City. In the past few months they have hosted science, art, and music workshops, as well as a trip to a local farm. Please pray for wisdom as they seek to holistically serve this community. 

As we begin 2023, pray God’s blessing over SAM’s partnerships in Guatemala. Pray for ministries, relationships, and planning for the year ahead. Our team includes Nilton and Kaylee Solier and TEAM partners Justin and Jenny Burkholder.

Pray for Amie Bockstahler and her medical ministry to nurses in Guatemala City. Pray for deepening relationships with the 31 nursing students in her class and for the opportunities for discipleship. Pray for these Guatemalan nurses to grow in providing quality health care to those in need while also sharing the hope and spiritual healing found in Christ.

Justin and Jenny Burkholder minister at Church of the Reform in Guatemala City. They live in a context where the effects of sin on society are clearly seen. Pray for God to work through an upcoming marriage retreat that the church is hosting to heal, restore, and grow marriages in the church that will have ripple effects on society at large.

Pray for AJ and Alaina Westendorp and their ministry in Guatemala City to the urban poor as they seek to share the true treasure, Jesus Christ, with them. Pray for AJ as he begins a new season of coaching the Toros American Football team; pray for good discipling relationships amongst the players to form.

Pray for Amie Bockstahler as she teaches and disciples nursing students. Pray that they would not only learn how to be excellent nurses but also come to know and follow Christ.

Zone 3 is one of the zones in Guatemala City and is a place where people live in severe poverty off landfills and trash heaps. Families are hurting due to recent fires that destroyed homes and killed family members. Please pray for healing, hope, and strength in the midst of this difficult environment.

Pray for AJ and Alaina Westendorp, TEAM Guatemala missionaries. They are ministering to Silvia, a single mother of 5 kids who has serious health issues. Praise the Lord that they found a donor match for a transplant; please pray that she can actually receive the transplant soon, as she is now struggling with some additional health issues.

David and Diana Stoddard are missionaries with TEAM in Guatemala. Pray for a video project they are working on that uses puppets to teach children about sexual abuse. They would like to produce the first of four videos by mid-year but progress is slow, so please pray for the Lord’s leading in this endeavor, and ask Him to use it to help prevent sexual abuse and bring healing where needed.
