As God’s people live authentically—infusing the world with the grace and mercy of Jesus—the local church takes on the beauty God desires for it. God’s church is a gathering of people through which he works out the purposes of redemption—in individuals, families, cities and nations.
Self-sustenance is too small a thing for the Church, Christ’s body which is the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. By his Spirit we are being shaped into redemptive communities. May the Lord renew in his people a passion for his will to be done “on earth as it is in heaven.”
The Church Planting fund is necessary to support the on-going efforts to multiply communities of the redeemed from the windswept highlands to the tropical eastern lowlands of Bolivia. SAM’s network of church partners in Bolivia and emphasis within the church communities to have a vision for growth puts the potential for church multiplication always in play.
We have to be ready to respond with the people and resources when the Holy Spirit moves and begins a new work. To date, because of the presence of SAM missionaries and partnerships with Bolivian believers over decades, literally hundreds of churches have formed, in indigenous Ayoré communities, in rural villages along the rivers of the northern Amazon basin, and among the mestizo population in Santa Cruz and various province towns. The Association of Eastern Evangelical Churches, a coalition of churches founded with SAM’s influence more than 30 years ago, today has more than 30 congregations.
