SAM welcomes two new faces in the U.S. office!
Michele King is our new accountant. Along with her finance background, Michele brings a heart for service and God’s Word.
Monte Wison is the new Director of Mobilization. Before coming to SAM, Monte and his wife served as missionaries in Bolivia. His experience also includes mobilizing short-term teams. Monte brings a wealth of leadership and mission experience to SAM.

This is an exciting time of growth at SAM, and we want to grow in ways that make us stronger as related to our vision of Redeemed Lives, Beautiful Churches, and Transformed Communities. To that end, we have another new face at SAM!
Kristin Macurda has joined the senior leadership team and will focus on organizational advancement and partnerships. She is passionate about discipleship and God’s work in the world. Kristin is helping SAM align our combined efforts in mission so we strategically come alongside God’s work in South America of developing beautiful churches.
SAM welcomes Jon Freeman to the team in the US office! Jon is an experienced missionary and pastor. His wisdom and vision will help remove ministry obstacles, increase effectiveness, and grow resources. Jon will focus on project ministries and deepening church partnerships.
South America Mission has a long legacy of ministry, but we continue to ask what effectiveness and obedience look like for us today. To help SAM answer this question, RJ Caswell has joined the US office as COO. RJ brings years of experience in counseling, Christian education, and pastoral ministry. We are thrilled to welcome him as he will help SAM be strong, healthy, and dynamic in this generation.
SAM will be hosting our 2023 Candidate Orientation. Orientation is a time of discernment, learning, connection, and worship. Please pray for each of our participants that God would give them wisdom and clarity as they take steps to become SAM missionaries.
SAM’s Board of Directors visited Colombia last month. Praise God for a wonderful trip to witness the many ways He is working and moving. The board listened to, learned from, and prayed for missionaries, national and Indigenous pastors, and ministry leaders. Pray for the leadership of the Board and the flourishing of the church in Colombia.
Dan and Julie served in Brazil for many years but have recently moved stateside. They will assist with international ministries and staff development in SAM’s Home Office (Fort Mill, SC). Their years of experience will be a great asset to these areas. Please pray for the Snyders during this transition.
Pray for our brothers and sisters in the African-American church as they send missionaries around the world. Pray for their support raising efforts and gospel outreach.
As we begin 2023, pray God’s blessing over the SAM home office staff. Pray for wisdom, unity, and planning for the year ahead. Praise God for the faithful women and men who serve on the SAM Board of Directors. They are gathering this week to discern God’s direction. Pray for a fruitful time of celebration, reflection and planning.
