The phrase, “First of All, Pray!”, inspired by 1 Timothy 2:1, is the name of our prayer ministry. It reflects the prominence of prayer within our community. It’s been a mark of our Mission for more than 100 years. The mark remains. First of all, pray—deliberately, intentionally, and in faith, with praise and thanksgiving.

Verdad y Vida Church in Colombia January 6th, 2025

Julián and Serina Arias serve in Medellín, Colombia, where Julián is part of Ser Bíblico, a ministry dedicated to strengthening churches with sound doctrine and biblical teaching.

One church they’ve worked with, Verdad y Vida (Truth and Life) in Manrique Oriental, has experienced incredible transformation under Pastor Wilson’s leadership. Through a deeper understanding of sound doctrine and commitment to biblical practices, the church has embraced significant changes—even reflecting its convictions in its remodeled sanctuary.

Now, the church is focusing on equipping members with less formal education to improve reading skills, ensuring everyone can grow in studying God’s Word together.

Please pray for Verdad y Vida Church and the ongoing ministry of Ser Bíblico!

Iglesia Remanente in Santa Cruz, Bolivia December 27th, 2024

This season, we’re Celebrating Lives Changed and reflecting on answered prayers from 2024!

At the start of this year, we asked you to pray for Iglesia Remanente, a new church plant in Santa Cruz, Bolivia led by Daniel and Alejandra Netzlaff. The church’s vision: “Seek, know, and bring Jesus to our family and the world.”

Today, we celebrate how God has answered those prayers! In just one year, Iglesia Remanente has become a welcoming place for families and friends with strong Bible teaching, vibrant worship, children’s programs, prayer, baptisms, and most of all, faith in Jesus.

Praise God for this beautiful church changing lives in Bolivia and beyond.

SAMAIR Bolivia December 23rd, 2024

This season, we’re celebrating lives changed and answered prayers from 2024!

In February, SAMAIR Bolivia’s Cessna 206, nicknamed “Lazarus,” returned to the skies after nearly eight years grounded. Since then, SAMAIR pilot Dave Smith has flown 127 hours, reaching remote areas to serve pastors, missionaries, doctors, and even families in need.

We thank God for His provision and protection through every flight—each one a reminder of His faithfulness. Please join us in praying for continued safety and opportunities to bring hope and support to more communities in 2025.

SAM Interns December 20th, 2024

This season, we’re celebrating lives changed and answered prayers from 2024!

This summer, we asked you to pray for our six-week interns as they stepped out of their comfort zones in Peru—immersing themselves in ministry, culture, and Kingdom work. Today, we celebrate how God answered those prayers! 🎉

For Emily Duchow, the internship was life-changing, helping her grow in Christ, servanthood, and her understanding of life on the mission field.

We’re praising God for how He deepened faith and transformed lives through this internship experience.

Follow along on SAM’s Facebook to watch Emily share about her time in Peru!

Ricardo and Flavia Poquiviqui December 16th, 2024

This season, we’re Celebrating Lives Changed and reflecting on answered prayers from 2024!

This year, we prayed for Ricardo and Flavia Poquiviqui, who have faithfully served Indigenous communities in Northeast Brazil for over 20 years. Today, we celebrate an incredible answer to prayer: they’re officially joining the South America Mission family!

Through their ministry with CONPLEI, they’ve been instrumental in researching and mapping Indigenous villages while providing pastoral care and support to these communities. Join us in welcoming them and praying for their continued work with Northeast Brazil’s 58 Indigenous ethnicities, including 29 tribes that have not yet heard the Gospel.

Together, we’re celebrating lives changed for eternity!

Proclama December 13th, 2024

This season, we’re Celebrating Lives Changed and reflecting on answered prayers from 2024!

“God’s plans are always perfect and amazing.”

In March we prayed for Proclama, a ministry that equips and mobilizes Bolivian believers for global missions. Let’s celebrate and pray for a missionary candidate recently commissioned to serve cross-culturally!

God gave her a heart for missions when she was 17. She attended workshops on faith and missions but lacked the confidence to continue pursuing the call. For several years, she focused on a “normal” life of work and service in her church and community. A pastor invited her to help with some Proclama events and soon she was involved in missions through volunteering with Proclama.

Another Proclama volunteer encouraged her to complete missions training with the Open Network, and she finished this year. She took her first cross-cultural trip to Asia, walking in faith, and seeing God confirm His purpose every step of the way.

Her story is a beautiful reminder of how Proclama equips leaders and sends them to the nations to share the Gospel. Pray for her next steps of cross-cultural ministry!

The Ryan Family December 9th, 2024

This season, we’re Celebrating Lives Changed and reflecting on answered prayers from 2024!

In January, the Ryan family began language school in Costa Rica, preparing to serve in rural Bolivia. Just last week, Eric and Zola graduated! Congratulations to the Ryans on this important milestone in their journey.

On December 10, they’ll take the next big step—moving to Bolivia! As they wrap up their time in Costa Rica, they’re busy packing, saying goodbye, and preparing for life in a new country. They praise God for keeping their family healthy and for the smooth progress as they transition.

Please join us in praying for one specific need: the funds to purchase a reliable family vehicle in Bolivia. This vehicle will not only serve as their family car but will also double as a work truck for their ministry, helping them reach the people and places God calls them to serve.

Shipibo Bible Institute December 6th, 2024

This season, we’re Celebrating Lives Changed and reflecting on answered prayers from 2024!

In February, we prayed for Mike Anderson and the Shipibo pastors in Peru as they worked on Bible curriculum translation. Throughout the year, Mike partnered with another missionary to support the Shipibo Bible Institute in Nuevo Paraíso (New Paradise). Together, they worked with Indigenous pastors to update the Bible curriculum and reopen the institute after a season of inactivity and transition.

Mike has also had the joy of helping repair and improve the campus facilities. He made several trips to Nuevo Paraíso in January, February, and August, and even hosted a session with the pastors in Pucallpa. On his most recent trip in August, a team from Minnesota joined the effort, building a much-needed bathroom block and adding steps to the cafeteria meeting room.

Pray that God will lead more students to the Bible Institute, equipping them to study His Word and share His truth in their communities!
