The phrase, “First of All, Pray!”, inspired by 1 Timothy 2:1, is the name of our prayer ministry. It reflects the prominence of prayer within our community. It’s been a mark of our Mission for more than 100 years. The mark remains. First of all, pray—deliberately, intentionally, and in faith, with praise and thanksgiving.

Angel Sandoval Communities in Eastern Bolivia October 11th, 2024

The remote communities of Angel Sandoval in eastern Bolivia are no strangers to isolation. Seasonal flooding of the Pantanal, the world’s largest tropical wetland, cuts them off from the rest of the country. But now, they are battling another force of nature—wildfires.

With only one road in and out, these communities have limited contact with other people. Last year, SAMAIR Bolivia partnered with local believers for a trip by land to serve these isolated regions. And this October, the local believers have initiated another journey. This time, they’re bringing supplies, medical aid, and, most importantly, the hope of the Gospel.

Pray with us for protection over these communities endangered by the wildfires and for hearts to be open to the love of Christ. 🙏❤️

Todd and Erika are committed to supporting local churches in evangelism, church planting, and leadership development among these groups. They also seek to build partnerships between local churches and leaders of these communities. Pray for fruitful ministry and strengthened connections that will lead to lasting spiritual growth and care for these people groups.

Iglesia Misionera Encuentro Cristiano in San Ignacio, Bolivia October 4th, 2024

Celebration in San Ignacio de Velasco, Bolivia! The church Iglesia Misionera Encuentro Cristiano (part of the AIEO network of churches) just commissioned their new pastor, Don Edwin. Six new believers were baptized as well! SAMAIR Bolivia was grateful to play a small part in the celebration by transporting AIEO leaders from Santa Cruz.

Trans-Amazon Network Encounter October 2nd, 2024

Please join us in praying for the Three Waves Movement and the Trans-Amazon Network as they prepare for the “Trans-Amazon Network Encounter” later this month.  SAM partners with the Indigenous networks in Bolivia (FRALIC) and Brazil (CONPLEI).

Leaders from each Amazonian Indigenous network, about 70 men and women, will gather in Ecuador October 22-26 to plan collaboratively. As they talk together and share experiences, they will advance their work among the different Indigenous networks of the Amazon region in a unified manner. The physical presence and interactions will build communication and strengthen their ties as they work together to fulfill the Great Commission with the Indigenous Church.

The Indigenous Churches of Colombia September 30th, 2024

Praise God!  The Wájaro Foundation and Memoria Indígena received a generous grant from the Maclellan Foundation to support their work with Indigenous churches in Colombia!

Indigenous communities face unique challenges due to colonialism and current social, cultural, and environmental issues. Wájaro is committed to listening to and walking alongside these communities.

Wájaro works with RELIEC (Network of Indigenous Evangelical Leaders of Colombia) to equip leaders and address these challenges. This grant will help RELIEC hold a series of gatherings for Christian Indigenous leaders to dialogue and learn from one another. Please pray that these gatherings lead to contextual and self-sustaining discipleship and formation to address their communities’ needs.

Jorge and Cristina Orozco September 27th, 2024

The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Matthew 9:37

Pray for the ministry of Jorge and Cristina Orozco. They serve in Armenia, Colombia, with Iglesia Nueva Esperanza (New Hope Church) and Manos de Esperanza (Hands of Hope Foundation). They desire to bring the Hope of Christ to their community that struggles with gangs and drugs. Along with prayer and financial support, their ministry needs more “harvest workers” to serve with them. Please pray for the Lord’s provision for the Orozcos.

For more details and photos of their ministry, you can find a video from Pastor Jorge on SAM’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Los del Camino September 20th, 2024

Pray for Angelica and Andres Narváez as they create their documentary series Los del Camino, which showcases the spread of the Gospel in Colombia. Los del Camino, meaning “Those of the Way” (as described in Acts), shares stories of Indigenous communities and evangelical pioneers while highlighting Colombia’s beautiful landscapes and diverse cultures. Lift up their family and ministry, asking God to inspire future generations of believers through these videos. Pray that this series will deepen viewers’ understanding of the Gospel and encourage reflection on their own legacy for the Colombian church.
